Kyra Minturn

 Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born August 19th, 1965. She is an American actress and producer. She is most famous for her part as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. For her portrayal of Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The series ended on August 13th, 2012 following the completion of its seventh season. Sedgwick is also famous for her role as a regular on Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). She also starred in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), who was a speech instructor and educational/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, an investor in venture capital. Her mother, who was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian heritage. Sedgwick declares herself Jewish, and she has stated that she is a participant at Passover seders.
