Baylor was the place where I met numerous friends who have changed my life. Karen Pope from the Art History department. My classes in my major were taught by Dr. Pope. We also visited Paris and Chicago together to study the art. Her teaching style made art study an enjoyable experience and a day does not go by that I don't remember her saying "Art History is a giant puzzle, and we as historians constantly search for pieces to connect." My father was in the car business, and I had to work in the dealership all summer. In one summer, I was employed as a mechanic's assistant replacing brake pads as well as oil.
